The Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets of Enterprise are eager to show off their young players as they start the 2013-14-basketball season.

Enterprise will host a Classic against Bogue Chitto Thursday, Nov. 7. Tip-off is 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ game at 7:30 p.m.

 Lady Jackets Youthful 

Enterprise girls coach Jill Nations expects to have a good year with a young team. Nations will have to rely on her seniors: Kristen Jergins and returning starter junior guard Megan Rippy, for leadership.

“My team has worked very hard to prepare for this season,” said Nations. “We are looking forward to this year’s basketball season in our new facility.”

The Lady Jackets finished 15-17 last year and were eliminated in the opening round of the MHSAA Class 2A playoffs.

Nations lost four starters to graduation last year: Veonka Sanders, Caroleah Brister, Tiffany and Carley Price.

Jackets Vets 

Enterprise boys head coach John Knight will be relying on his team’s experience, hustle, depth and defense to have a

successful season this year.

The Jackets have three starters returning in Forrest Scott, Dylan Furr and Dwayne Pendleton. Coach Knight did not lose

any seniors to graduation last year.

Enterprise hopes to improve on a 7-22 record from last year. The Jackets finished 0-10 in Region 6-2A action.

West Lincoln, Loyd Star, Bassfield, Amite County and East Marion are Enterprise’s region opponents.
