LIBERTY – The Amite County Trojans used their speed and athletic ability to stomp the Enterprise 38-0 Friday night in Region 7-2A action.
“I was very pleased with my guys’ effort,” said Enterprise coach Brooks Burns. “My seniors played hard from start to finish. I wished we had more help from the ones who are not out there but on the sideline in the stands. Hopefully, we can encourage them to come out.
“Overall, it was a great season, even though we finished winless for the second straight year. We have improved a lot better both offensively and defensively.”
Enterprise senior running back Jackson Cole rushed 20 times for 86 yards. Austin Coleman had four rushes for 54 yards.
Coleman directed the Jackets’ air strike, completing three-of-six passes for 25 yards. Cole caught two passes for 15 yards. Lane Brown had one catch for 10 yards.
Defensively, Cole paced Enterprise with 16 tackles. Jake Case contributed 10 stops. Braxton Thompson and James King provided six tackles apiece.
The Jackets, coached by Brooks Burns, concluded their season with a 0-10 overall record and finished 0-5 in region play.
The Trojans (6-5, 3-2), coached by Robert Raines, clinched a playoff berth and will visit the Mize Bulldogs Friday.
