Area veterans are being honored Monday, Nov. 11, with a Veterans Day Celebration at the Lincoln Civic Center, and plans are being made to make sure each veteran in attendance receives a welcome bag.

Those who would like to donate items to put in the welcome bags for the veterans are asked to please bring them to the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce at 230 S. Whitworth Ave. by 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. The chamber is preparing bags for 100 veterans.

Monday’s Veterans Day Celebration at the civic center is scheduled from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. to honor all our local veterans and commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Military Memorial Museum in Brookhaven.
