Three Bears selected to MACJC All-Star Game

Three Southwest Bears have been selected to play in the annual MACJC All-Star football game. The game is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff Thursday at Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Tiger Stadium. Serving as head coach for the South squad is Pearl River’s William Jones.

Representing the Bears are defensive back Dalvin Acker (5′ 11″, 175-Picayune), linebacker Steven Joiner (5′ 10″, 205-Raymond) and linebacker C. J. O’Quin (6′, 210-Franklin County). Defensive lineman Maurice Magee (6′ 3″, 265-Amite County) and offensive lineman Cordaci Patterson (6′, 280-South Pike) have been listed as alternates.

Players reported to Northeast yesterday and will have three practices prior to the game. This marks the 40th year of the game and the 27th consecutive year that Northeast has been the host.
