Officials seek help in finding missing teenager

Brookhaven police are looking for a missing teenage girl.

Jessica Norris, 15, hasn’t been to her home on Heucks Retreat Road since she left Tuesday afternoon, according to her grandmother, Jean Norris.

“I haven’t seen her since Tuesday. I haven’t heard anything, either, Jean Norris said.

According to an official with the Brookhaven Police Department, Jessica was last seen wearing Skinny Jeans and a green hoodie.

Jessica attends Brookhaven High School but hasn’t been to school since leaving home, said Jean Norris.

No foul play is suspected regarding the missing teenager. “It appears to be a runaway situation,” said an official with the police department.

Officials also believe Jessica to be somewhere in Brookhaven.

The BPD received the call concerning the missing teenager at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.

So far, their efforts to track down Jessica have not been successful. The police department is hoping the public can assist them.

Police encourage the public to call the department with any information regarding the missing teenager at 601-833-2424.

Jean Norris has legal custody of Jessica, as well as Jessica’s 10-year-old brother.
