SUMRALL – The Lawrence County Lady Cougars captured two wins in their season opener in Sumrall’s softball tournament.

The LCHS Lady Cougars edged the Sumrall Lady Bobcats 3-2 and blanked the Brookhaven Lady Panthers 3-0 in Saturday games.

“I am very proud of the way we executed at the plate today,” said Lawrence County coach Meleah Howard. “We did not have a lot of hits, but we did well getting our bats down and ran the bases well. Both of our pitchers threw really well for us.”
