West Lincoln clips Loyd Star

The West Lincoln Bears captured a big district 4-3 win over the Loyd Star hornets in tennis action Friday afternoon at the Brookhaven City Courts.
West Lincoln resumes action Monday as they take on the Wesson Cobras starting at 4 p.m. at the Brookhaven Country Club.
Loyd Star will also be in action Monday as they battle Lawrence County at the Brookhaven City Courts beginning at 4 p.m.

Reid Butler-Gavin Thomas (LS) 6-0, 6-0. Boys No. 2 Doubles: Tyler Dunn-Cole Moak (LS) d. Matt Gill-Austin Patt (WL) 6-2, 6-4. Girls No. 1 Doubles: Katy Clark-Caroline Laird (WL) d. Toni Banks-Jordan Shelby (LS) 6-0, 6-0. Girls No. 2 Doubles: Faith Bergeron-Lani Smith (LS) d. Madison Franklin-Carlie Smith (WL) 6-3, 6-1. Mixed Doubles: Sebastian Harrell-Laura Lee Dunaway (WL) d. Madisyn Brister-Bryson Brister (LS) 2-6, 7-6 (7-2).
In JV action Loyd Star’s Caitlin Cade and Anna Thomas won their match 8-3.
