A unique fundraiser that incorporates splattered bugs and motorcycles will take place this Saturday at Brookhaven Honda.

Now in it’s 26th year, The Run for the Son Fund is a collection of Christian motorcycle associations from across the state that come together to raise funds for Christian ministries.

Bikers will participate in a “Bug Splatter Ride.” Sticker targets will be placed on each motorcycle. After riders participate in the ride, a prize will be awarded for the rider whose bike has a bug splatter closest to the target sticker.

Judges will also award a prize to the biker whose bike has the most or least amount of bug splatters on it. Bikers will leave the Honda lot and hit the road at 10 a.m. The last bike will return back to the lot at 2 p.m.

Hamburger plates with a drink will be available for $5. There will be doughnuts and coffee for early riders.

The Brookhaven event is sponsored by the Sons of Thunder, Chapter 535. For more information, call Tommy Smith at 601-833-8620 or Road Capt. Roy Tynes at 601-657-4892.
