Bulldogs crush Crystal Springs

CRYSTAL SPRINGS – Paced by a home run from junior catcher Graham Cowart, the Franklin County Diamond Dawgs beat Crystal Springs 17-1 in a tune-up for the playoffs.

The Bulldogs had 10-hits in the contest, with Cowart’s towering shot helping the Bulldogs in a 12-run second inning that overwhelmed the Tigers.

Kemo Verdin collected the win on the mound, while Hoby Mullins added a double and a stolen base at the plate. The contest lasted only three innings.

The Bulldogs play at North Pike on Tuesday at 6, before beginning Class 3A playoff action on Thursday.
