Purple Ribbon Week proclaimed

DAILY LEADER / RHONDA DUNAWAY / Central Baptist Church Youth and Children's Ministry members and parents were on hand Monday as Mayor Joe Cox signed a proclamation designating the week of April 28 through May 2 as Purple-Ribbon Week in Brookhaven. Relay for Life organizer and member of Central Baptist Church Cindie Chambers said, "We are asking the town to contribute by buying and displaying purple ribbons all over town." She said the ribbons are great for door wreaths and gift toppers. They are $5 and can be bought from any Relay for Life team members. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. For more information on purchase of the ribbons call Christi O'Neal, 601-748-0304.
