For three Lincoln County baseball players, their next stop will be the Junior College World Series.

Hinds Community College freshmen pitchers Gage Posey, Houston Case and Andrew Culver helped the Eagles claim the Region 23 Championship over Jones County Junior College Sunday, winning 7-4.

Hinds plays in the NJCAA Division Two World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, May 24-31. The 10-team field is under the double-elimination format.

Case and Culver are former Ole Brook Panthers, while Posey is a former Brookhaven Academy product.

The trio has gone through the ups and downs of the season. Hinds lost the State Championship to Jones last week, before rebounding to take the Region 23 title with upset wins over LSU-Eunice and Jones.

Hinds’ ‘Cinderella Run’ will continue as the Lincoln County trio keeps the Eagles flying high.
