Funeral Services for Carl Denver Smith of Brookhaven are 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services with burial in Johnson Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday, July 7, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Services.

Mr. Smith, 89, died July 5, 2014, at his residence. He was born on June 19, 1925, to Johnson Commodor Smith and Mary Magee Smith.

He was a retired mechanic and United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Brookway Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Peggy Gillis Smith; daughter, Judy Crum Britt and husband, Virgil, of Hattiesburg; two sons, Carl Mark Smith and wife, Wanda, and Thomas A. Crum and wife, Marilyn, all of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
