Memorial Services for George Dalton Williams of Port Gibson are 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson. O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson.

Mr. Williams, 67, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, in Ocean Springs. He was born on July 27, 1947, in Brookhaven to George and Pauline Williams.

He and his wife recently moved to Ocean Springs to retire. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University, receiving his degree in engineering. He was a proud Mississippi State Alumni and a member of the Mississippi Bulldog Club.

He retired from the Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant after 22 years of service. He served as a deacon for the First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson and Ocean Springs and was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Mr. Dalton had a loving, eccentric personality which bubbled over to his family and friends.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Henry Williams of Ocean Springs; a daughter, Melanie Williams Oakman of Ocean Springs; a stepson, Wade Stewart and his wife, Emily, of Chicago, Illinois; and one grandson, Drew Oakman.
