North Pike, which trailed a majority of the game, struck first in a heated meeting between two rivals. Makia Trotter scored on a three-yard scamper to give the Jags a 6-0 lead.

After that scoring drive, the Bulldogs reeled off 28 straight unanswered points over the next 16-minutes as Bernard Selmon scored from four yards out.

After an interception by Bulldogs senior defensive back Michael White, FC cashed in the turnover with a five-yard TD run from Collins to go up 14-6.

On the Bulldogs’ next possession, Collins took the air connecting with Austin Wallace and Selmon. He added a 21-yard touchdown pass to Keontre Hayes.

After the Jaguars were stopped by the Bulldogs’ tough defense, Collins added his most electrifying play of the night scoring on a 46-yard sprint into the end zone.

The Bulldogs entered halftime up 28-6.

In the second half, North Pike came roaring back. The Jags received touchdown passes from QB Juwan Adams to lead the rally.

Adams hit Javian Jackson from 43 yards out in the third quarter and later Colton Magee from 5-yards out in the fourth quarter.

With 5:15 remaining, North Pike failed to stop the Bulldogs as they ran out the clock to celebrate the win.

The Bulldogs (1-1) travel to McComb Friday for a 7 p.m. meeting.
