The parents of Teri Dawn Smith and Thomas Jefferson “T.J.” Floyd announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children.

She is the daughter of Kevin and Vanessa Smith, of Brookhaven.

He is the son of John and Tina Floyd, of Brookhaven.

She is the granddaughter of W.K. and Laverne Ezell, of Meadville, and Ronald and Ann Smith, of Brookhaven. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Para Lee Smith.

He is the grandson of John and Joan Floyd and John and Kay Caraway, of Natchez.

The bride-elect is a 2012 graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center and a graduate of Copiah Lincoln Community College where she received her cosmetology license and certified nursing assistant license. She is currently employed with Golden Living Center.

The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he received a degree in Industrial Maintenance. He is currently employed with Rebel Testers.

The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Friendship Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
