McComb sweeps BSW

The McComb Ironhorse captured three victories over Brookhaven Southern Wildcats in TNT Youth Football League action last Saturday in McComb.
The Ironhorse crushed BSW 38-0 in the 11- and 12-year-old game. McComb thumped the Wildcats 44-20 in the 9-10 year-old game. In 7- and 8-year-old action, the Ironhorse defeated the Wildcats 16-6.
The Wildcats play again Saturday against the Natchez Saints in Natchez. Game time begins at 10 a.m.
McComb 16, BSW 6
Elijah Calcote was the offensive leader on the field as he powered the Wildcats rushing attack with 78 yards total. Calcote’s longest run came on a 47-yard touchdown run.
Kristian Collins provided 10-yards rushing for BSW.
Defensively, Calcote lead the team in tackles with five stops. Cory Smith contributed four tackles and recovered a fumble. Deon Jones had three tackles. Humphreys Cameron, Markel Smith and Zack Washington provided two tackles each. Washington also recovered a fumble.
McComb 44, BSW 20
Malachi Clark was the top rusher for the Wildcats with 160 yards. Clark scored two 70-yards rushing touchdowns and a two-point conversion to lead Brookhaven.
Kenneth Dixon also helped BSW on the scoreboard by scoring a 50-yard rushing touchdown. Dixon was also the second leading rusher on the team with 60 yards.
Defensively, Kermit Sartin directed the Wildcats with six tackles. Dixon provided two tackles.
