MEADVILLE – Big plays highlighted Franklin County’s 40-22 homecoming win Friday night, as senior Denzel Allen collected a 109-yard interception return to go down in FC record books.

Franklin County improved to 3-3 overall with the win and will face defending 3A South State and Region 7-3A champion Hazlehurst this Friday at 7 p.m. in Copiah County.

Bernard Selmon, the Bulldogs rugged and shifty 5-11, 205-pound running back, scored on runs of 24 and 4 yards out. He finished with a game high of 132 yards rushing on 21 carries.

On defense, Allen’s historic pick-6 highlighted the Bulldogs attack, but it wasn’t the only big play on that side of the ball.

FC junior Courtney Smith took a fumble return back 59 yards for a touchdown.

Returning from injury, FC sophomore QB DeMartre Collins scored on an 8-yard run. He also hit wideout Mike White from 15 yards out for a score.
