BOGUE CHITTO – The Lady Cats of Bogue Chitto took care of business Tuesday night in the first round of Class 1A South Mississippi playoffs against the French Camp Academy Lady Panthers.

The Lady Cats rallied back in Game One to prevail 18-8 and clobbers the Lady Panthers 10-0 in Game Two.

French Camp came out of the gates in the first inning with two quick base hits by Syd Jennings and Kaley Edwards. AK Hoskett got on base by an error by the Lady Cats.

After French Camp scored two runs, the Lady Cats’ defense tightened down and got out of the inning. BC came up to bat in the bottom of the first. Zariah Matthews and Alana Nettles got on base by walks. Christian Black was at the plate and had two balls and one strike on her and the next pitch she launched over the center field fence putting the Lady Cats on the board early.

Mallory Allen, Terrah Nelson, and Cherie Savoie got on base by hard base hits. French Camp was able to get out of that inning, but not after the Lady Cats put five runs on the board.

French camp managed to bounce back and reclaimed the lead by pushing across six runs on five base hits and a couple errors by the Lady Cats’ defense.

In the bottom of the third inning. The Lady Cats was able to get some key hits to reclaim the lead and was able to keep their lead.

In the 4th inning the Lady Cats scored 4 runs with several base hits. In the 5th inning the Lady Cats got three runs across the plate to end the ball game.

The winning pitcher was Brooke Myers with four walks. The losing pitcher for French Camp was Kaley Edwards with two walks.

French Camp had three errors as a team and the Lady Cats had four errors as a team.

The hitters for French Camp were Syd Jennings, AK Hosket, Karlin West, and Alex Hantin all with singles. Skyler Bashea had two singles.

The hitters for the Lady Cats were Brooke Myers, Karly Leake, Reagan Kirkland, Zariah Matthews, and Baileigh Jackson all had singles. Alana Nettles had two singles. Christian Black had two singles, a double, and a homerun. Mallory Allen had three singles. Colby Kirkland had two doubles. Terrah Nelson had a single, a double, and a triple. Cherie Savoie had two singles.

Bogue Chitto 10, French Camp 0 

After the victory in the first game, the Lady Cats knew what they had to do to take care of business. The Lady Cats were clicking on all cylinders in the first inning. BC scored five runs on six base hits.

Bogue Chitto increased their lead in the second inning with one run on one base hit.

In the 4th inning, the Lady Cats produced four runs off of four base hits.

The winning pitcher for the Lady Cats was Brooke Myers with no walks. The losing pitcher for French Camp was Kaley Edwards with 4 walks. The Lady Cats had no errors as a team. French Camp had one error as a team.

French Camp only hitter was Carley Pender with a single.

The Lady Cats were powered at the plate by Alana Nettles with two singles and a double. Zariah Matthews had a single and a double. Christian Black, Mallory Allen, Terrah Nelson, Cherie Savoie, Brooke Myers, Karly Leake, Reagan Kirkland, and Baileigh Jackson hit a single each.

The Lady Cats will play the Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors Saturday starting at 3 o’clock at Bogue Chitto in the second round of South Mississippi playoffs. Everyone please come out and support Coach Leggett and the Lady Cats softball team.
