BSW claims a victory over Tylertown

The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats captured one win in Last Saturday contest against the Tylertown Rams in TNT Youth Football League action on King Field.

Brookhaven defeated the Ravens 34-6 in the 7-to-8 year-old game. In the 11-to-12 year-old contest, Tylertown shutout BSW 32-0 and crushed the Southern Wildcats 36-8 in the 9-to-10 year-old game.

The Wildcats play again this Saturday, as they travel to Natchez to take on the Natchez Falcons. The first game starts at 10 a.m.

BSW 34, Tylertown 6 

Markel Smith was the offensive leader for the Wildcats with 95 yards rushing. He scored three touchdowns on a sprints of 43, 12 and 3 yards.

Zackabee Moore punched in a touchdown on a 16-yard run.

Adarris Tillman cashed in a defensive touchdown after returning a fumble recovery 50 yards to paydirt. Smith added the two-point conversion.

Elijah Calcote was the second leading rusher for Brookhaven with 56 yards.

Defensively, Tillman paced the Wildcats with 10 tackles. Smith contributed 7 stops. Calcote had 6 tackles. Cory Smith and Zack Washington had two tackles apiece.

Tylertown 32, BSW 0 

Sedarick Brothern led the Wildcats offense with 75 yards rushing. Dominique Dixon contributed 45 yards on the ground.

Defensively, Brothern led with 6 tackles. Dontrey Smith had 4 tackles and a fumble recovery. Latrey Cameron provided 4 stops. Treion Sanders and Dixon provided two tackles each.

Tylertown 36, BSW 8 

Malachi Clark scored the only touchdown for the Wildcats on a 1-yard plung. Kenneth Dixon added the two-point conversion.

Kenneth Dixon powered the ground attack with 47 yards. Kermit Sartin and Malachi Clark contributed 30-yards apiece.

Jeremiah Hargon caught a pass for 10 yards.

Defensively, Kermit Sartin led the team with 8 tackles. Caleb Harris provided 6 stops. Terrell Adams and Clark had four tackles apiece. Hargon and Dixon added two tackls each.
