Gulf Coast took a 7-0 lead just 30 seconds into the game, but Davis would respond by returning the ensuing kickoff 94-yards for the score. With just over two minutes remaining in regulation, it appeared that Gulf Coast had grabbed a lead they wouldn’t relinquish on a scoring pass that put them up 26-23.

It would be Davis again who played the hero as he followed a near identical path to another touchdown return, this one for 100-yards and the game winning score. Davis also scored on a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He has previously scored on a 94-yard kickoff return earlier this season in a win over Delta.

Davis is the second consecutive Co-Lin player to receiver this honor. Last week the award went to Co-Lin kicker Greg Nickles. Previous MACJC Player of the Week honorees from Co-Lin are Demond Tucker (defense) and Donald Gray (offense/special teams).
