BSW clobbers Natchez Saints

The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats captured three victories over the Natchez Saints in TNT Youth Football League action last Saturday in Natchez.

Brookhaven defeated Natchez 28-0 in the 11-12 year-old game. The Wildcats crushed the Saints 22-8 in the 9-10 year-old game. In 7-8 year-old action, BSW blanked the Saints 40-0.

The Wildcats play again Saturday, Nov. 8 & 9 for the opening round of the playoffs at Southwest Community Junior College. The 7-8 year-olds and the 9-10 year-olds will be participating. Their opponents and time of action has not been set. The 11-12 year-olds conclude their season.

BSW 22, Saints 8 

The 7-8 year-olds Southern Wildcats (6-2) finished in second place after thumping the Natchez Saints.

Elijah Calcote powered Brookhaven with 125 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Calcote scored on a 37, 55 and a 11-yard run.

Markel Smith was the second leading rusher with 25 yards. He punched in a two-point conversion. Cory Smith also had a two-point conversion.

Calcote also dominated on defense to lead the team with seven tackles. Cory Smith contributed six tackles and had a fumble recovery. Markel Smith had four stops and a fumble recovery. Fabain Washington provided five tackles. Adarris Tillman had three tackles and Zachery Moore had two tackles.

BSW 40, Saints 0 

The 9-10 year-olds Southern Wildcats (5-3) finished the season in fourth place to qualify for the playoffs after blanking the Natchez Saints.

Kenneth Dixon led BSW offensive charge with 45 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. Dixon also caught a 70-yard pass from Kermit Sartin for a touchdown.

Sartin passed for two touchdowns and scored on rushing touchdown on a three-yard run. Sartin second passing touchdown was a five-yard pass to Marvis McDaniel.

Brice Barfoot paced Brookhaven’s ground attack with 28 yards. Malachi Clark provided 26 yards rushing.

Defensively, Damien Blandon directed the Wildcats with four tackles and a fumble recovery. Terrell Adams contributed three tackles. Clark had three tackles and an interception. Kobe Jacobs provided two stops and intercepted a pass. Caleb Harris had two tackles and Sartin had a sack.

BSW 28, Saints 0 

The 11-12 year-olds Southern Wildcats conclude their season on a winning note after destroying the Natchez Saints last Saturday.

Ja’queen Anderson paced Brookhaven’s offense with two rushing touchdowns. Anderson scored on a 25 and 30-yard run.

Sedrick Brothern punched in a 70-yard touchdown run and Dominique Dixon cashed in a 5-yard run.

Defensively, Anderson led the team with four tackles and an interception. Vincent Brown had two tackles. Dixon recovered a fumble.
