Charles ‘Bo’ Bobo

Funeral Services for Charles Bobo of Brookhaven are 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Lakewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home.

Mr. Bobo, 73, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 21, 1941, in Lorman to Lola Wroten and Howard Bobo.

He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the Mississippi National Guard prior to beginning his business life.

Following a career in the computer technology industry, Mr. Bobo became an entrepreneur. He owned multiple Jackson businesses including Doors of Distinction along with his wife, Prue, for 17 years. A great cook, he was a partner in two restaurants, Phil’s Place and Bo-Don’s. He was also active in real estate.

Mr. Bobo was a devoted husband and father and true friend to all who knew him. His courage and faith in the Lord was unwavering during a 15-year battle with leukemia and in all of life’s challenges.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Lavel and Gromer Bobo.

Mr. Bobo is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Prudence “Prue” Martin Bobo; two sons, Charles Martin “Marty” Bobo and wife, Linda, Michael Redding Bobo and wife, Lindsey; sister, Shirley Bobo Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at M.D. Anderson, Houston, Texas, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and the staff at Hospice Ministries in Brookhaven.
