Funeral Services for Alvin Ramsey of West Lincoln are 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Cletus Moak will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Lee, Tony Moak, Kris Bailey, Les Hughes, Blake Boyd and Jamie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Ramsey, Glenn Ramsey, David Gibbs, Wayne McCullough and Marty Alexander. Catchings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit and continues Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Ramsey, 62, died Nov. 16, 2014, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on Sept. 17, 1952, in Pike County to Paul S. and Peggy Castleberry Ramsey.

He was an offshore consultant for Stokes and Spiehler, Inc. and worked for BP in Houston, Texas for six years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Special Forces, Green Berets and Air Borne Ranger and served in Germany. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale.

His family referred to Mr. Ramsey as a very loving person. He loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He was a person that made everyone feel special regardless of who you were and was encouraging to everyone. He was a special man that was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors are his wife of 15 years, Elaine Cannon Ramsey of West Lincoln; his sons, Eric Ramsey and Hailey Cole of Pricedale; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Shannon Ramsey Moak and Tony of Caseyville, Michele and Les Hughes of Bogue Chitto, Renee and Scott Lee of West Lincoln and Terri Jackson and fiancé, Kris Bailey, of Bogue Chitto; two brothers, Glen Ramsey and wife, April, of Many, Louisiana and Mike Ramsey of Louisiana; 13 grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Karley Smith, Josh Whittington, Blake Ramsey, Triston Lee, Gavin Jackson, Brycen Moak, Spencer Smallwood, Addyson Moak, Gracie Bailey, Ashton Hughes, Landon Hughes and Skylar Hughes; two great-grandchildren, Adnil Smith and Abigail Smith; special cousins, David Gibbs and wife, Rita, of Texas and Martha Carol Bills of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews.
