A roaring house fire Saturday left a Brookhaven family of six in need. The family survived, but everything they owned was destroyed.

Brookhaven Fire Captain Jeff Ainsworth said firemen responded to a house fire on Industrial Park Road at 9:15 p.m. Ainsworth said they were able to save 50 percent of the structure, but 100 percent of the contents were destroyed by fire or water.

Faculty members at Brookhaven Elementary School and Mamie Martin Elementary School are working to help replace some of the lost items. The schools are collecting clothes for the four children that lived in the home.
