Alabama A&M puts away Mississippi Valley St.

ITTA BENA – Ladarius Tabb scored a career-high 31 points as Alabama A&M cruised past Mississippi Valley State, 86-73 in a Southwest Conference game Saturday.

The Delta Devils briefly took the lead with 16:30 left to play on a layup by Isaac Williams, but Tabb answered with one of his three 3-pointers and Alabama A&M led by as many as 15 points down the stretch.

Tabb converted 10 of 18 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from distance. Nicolas West added 15 points while Rakiya Battle and Tyler Davis each added 12 for Alabama A&M (4-9, 2-1 SWAC).

The Bulldogs shot a crisp 53.1 percent from the field (26 of 49) and knocked down 10 of 18 from behind the arc (55.6 percent).

Jordan Washington had 22 points to lead Mississippi Valley State (2-13, 1-1), with Rakwan Kelly adding 13 points and Williams 11.
