Funeral Services for Ben Porter of Valparaiso, Florida are 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Niceville with burial in Heritage Gardens Cemetery. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at First Baptist Church, Niceville.

Mr. Porter, 66, died Jan. 9, 2015, at his favorite place on earth, his hunting camp. He was born in 1948 in Brookhaven to Benton Lee Porter and Wilma Porter.

He was a retired United States Air Force MSGT and a local builder since 1989. He loved God, family, hunting and the Braves. He never met a stranger and always shared his contagious smile.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Patricia Diane Porter; and nephew, Tony Porter.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia; children, Tonya Porter Hundley (Gabe), Angelia Porter, Ben T. Porter (Janice); grandchildren, McKenna, Brayton, Christian, Kimberlyn, Parker, Annakah and Kellyene; siblings, Carroll Ray Porter (Peggy), Lynn Slade (Louie); nieces, Darlene Doughty (Stephen), Sonya Cunningham (Tim); and nephew, Stephen Sisco (Christine).
