Update: Body identified as Monticello woman

Jan. 14,2015 4:28 p.m. – Chief Bobby Bell has confirmed that they have identified the body of a middle-aged woman found in east Brookhaven as that of  46-year-old Kimberly Yolanda Jones of 28 Curtis Brown Lane, Monticello.

Bell said the cause of death was strangulation and an arrest has been made. Her boyfriend James Haines, of the same address, 28 Curtis Brown Lane in Monticello has been charged with murder.  Haines was allegedly the last person to be seen with Jones.

Chief Bell said at the moment they don’t know anything about the events that led up to the incident.

Jan. 14,2015 3:40 p.m. – Chief Bobby Bell has confirmed that they have identified the body of a middle-aged woman found in east Brookhaven. The name of the woman will be released when the next of kin has been notified.

The body of a middle-aged black woman was found in east Brookhaven Tuesday morning. The Brookhaven Police Department received a call at 9:31 a.m. about the body found on 933 Crooked Lane by a mail carrier who was turning around in a vacant lot.

 

BPD Chief Bobby Bell said the body of a black woman wearing tan/brown pants, a light brown t-shirt and a black coat with a grey hood needs help being identified. The woman appears to be 5’5 and around 165 pounds with straight black hair, possibly flat ironed. He said the woman appears to be between her late 30s and early 50s.

 

Bell said they don’t know the cause of death of the unidentified woman but are “pretty sure she wasn’t killed at the location.”
