No. 18 Mississippi State women beat Vanderbilt

STARKVILLE (AP) – Victoria Vivians scored 16 of her 20 points in the first half, and No. 18 Mississippi State rolled to a 69-44 victory over Vanderbilt on Thursday night.

Vivians was 5 of 8 from 3-point range and the Bulldogs (22-2, 7-2 SEC) were 8 of 15. Martha Alwal added 14 points and Kendra Grant was 2 of 3 from the arc, finishing with 12 points.

The Bulldogs had a 14-6 run to close out the first half with an 11-point lead while holding the Commodores (12-9, 3-5) to just 19 first-half points.

Mississippi State allowed Vanderbilt within 31-25 early in the second half but pulled away from there.

Vanderbilt had a 33-29 advantage on the boards but had 22 turnovers and shot just 34.7 percent. Rebekah Dahlman led the Commodores with eight points.
