Tyler Christmas inks with Holmes

Wesson’s quarterback Tyler Christmas is taking his football skills to the next level as he has signed a football scholarship with the Holmes Community College Bulldogs.

Christmas, signed his official scholarship papers Wednesday afternoon in the Wesson Library. Joining Christmas for this joyous moment was his mom Donna Christmas, Aunt Vanessa Tillman, grandmaw Sarah Tillman and his sister Jamiya Christmas.

Members of the senior class and other school officials were also present to celebrate this big achievement.

“I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to play football at the next level at Holmes,” said Christmas.

Tyler mentioned that he is undecided on what he wants to pursue a career in.

For his senior year for the Cobras, Christmas completed 38 out of 103 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 202 yards on 102 carries.

“I am extremely proud for Tyler to be given the opportunity to play football at next level,” said Wesson football coach Ronald Greer. “We are looking forward to him making the most out of this opportunity.”
