WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack split a Saturday baseball double header with the visiting Blue Devils of Kaskaskia Collge (Ill.)

Co-Lin 4, Kaskaskia 3

The bottom of the third was when Co-Lin made their move, scoring all four runs in the inning. Sophomore Austin Resser started the inning off with a no-out double. Wesley Watts moved Resser to third with a bunt. Freshman infielder Jordan Antley brought Resser home with an RBI single. Antley then stole second standing up, moved to third on a passed ball, and scored on a wild pitch. The inning continued with sophomores Adrian Brown and Choc Hubbard both drawing walks. The duo then pulled off a double steal to move to second and third base. Sophomore Logan Smith brought Brown home with a sacrifice fly and Hubbard scored on a Reed Taylor single. The Blue Devils from Centralia, Illinois added one run apiece in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. Trailing 4-3, the visitors had the tying run on third with one out in the top of the seventh, but were stopped from scoring by an outstanding defense play by Co-Lin shortstop Antley. A hard hit ball bounced out of the glove of Co-Lin third baseman Tanner Parvin, Antley fielded the ball on the hop and gunned down a Kaskaskia runner at home plate. The next batter would hit a fly ball to center field and Co-Lin had escaped with a one run win.
