Jackets win one of two games

The Enterprise Yellow Jackets secured a splits in a doubleheader contest at Loyd Star’s baseball classic.

In the first game, the Yellow Jackets defeated the Franklin County Bulldogs 11-9, but fell to Natchez Cathedral 11-7 in the late game.

Enterprise (1-1) will return to action Friday as they prepare to host the Lincoln County Invitational tournament.

Enterprise 11, Franklin Co. 9 

Hunter Richardson was the winning pitcher for the Jackets with two strikeouts and three walks.

Richardson also led the Jackets at the plate with triple, double and a single. Tanner Waldrop provided a double and a single. Reese Brocato and Josh Hardin ripped a pair of singles. Jeffery Daniels added a double. Hitting safely were Landon Gartman and Marvin Bulter.

Will Moffet paced the Bulldogs with a double and a single. Graham Cowart and Thomas Slagle hit a pair of singles. Ethan Verdin had a double and Dalivan Hunt hit a single.

Cathedral 11, Enterprise 7 

Quinton Logan pitched the win for Cathedral with nine strikeouts and four walks.

Josh Hardin took the setback for the Jackets with no strikeouts and four walks.

Jeffery Daniels recorded the only hit for the Jackets with a single.

Zach Flattman led the Green Wave at the plate with two doubles. Brook Farmer hit three singles. Craif Bradley and Jacob Jenkins had a double and a single each. Andrew Beesley ripped two singles. Gabe Smith hit a double. Hitting safely were Pete Shiley and Reed White.
