Funeral Services for Rev. Joel Felix Upton of Brookhaven are 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bogue Chitto Assembly of God with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rev. Upton, 96, died Feb. 27, 2015, at his residence. She was born on April 25, 1918 to George William Upton and Alice Irene McGuffie Upton.

He was an Assembly of God Minister for over 65 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Maxine Elizabeth Upton; brothers, George W. Upton and Claude Earl Upton; sisters, Bethel Upton Johnson, Ida Upton Hampton and Margaret Upton Ritz.

Survivors are his sons, Joel Phillip Upton and Rev. Mark Barak Upton; daughter, Deborah Elizabeth Barfoot and husband, Ricky, Phyllis Bethel Hill and husband, Bob, and Cassiea Gay Crawford; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends
