Lady Cats defeat Franklin Co.

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats bounced back after a loss last Friday night to defeat the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs 4-1 in a make up softball game Monday night.

In last Friday contest, BC suffered a tough 5-1 loss in extra innings against the Pearl River Central Lady Blue Devils.

The Lady Cats (7-5, 3-0) continue action today as they visit Brookhaven to battle the Brookhaven Lady Panthers. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

Bogue Chitto 4, Franklin Co. 1 

The Lady Cats came out and jumped on the Lady Bulldogs early as BC scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning and added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Throughout the rest of the contest, the Lady Cats relied on their strong defense and the strong arms of Alana Nettles (3K, 0BB and Christian Black (2K. 4BB) to collect the win.

Franklin County scored the only run in the top of the seventh inning.

Baileigh Jackson was the top hitter at the plate for BC with a double. Hitting safely were Mallory Allen, Alana Nettles, Zariah Matthews, Terrah Nelson and Christian Black.
