Loyd Star host Bogue Chitto for First annual Strike Out Cancer game

Loyd Star coach Jan Delaughter and her Lady Hornets will host Bogue Chitto coach Scott Leggett and his Lady Cats for the their first annual “Strike out Cancer” softball game Friday night.

Both teams are combining together to make a donation to the American Cancer Society. The girls are asking for donations if anyone is interested in donating to the cause.

Loyd Star and Bogue Chitto have purchase purple shirts for the special cause to honor everyone that has or currently battling cancer of any type.

Coach Delaughter stated that the contest will be played on Friday with junior varsity starting first at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30, if weather permits.

If weather does cancel Friday contest, then the game will be played Saturday afternoon.

Everyone is invited to wear purple and come enjoy a great game. The event will recognize all cancer survivors and cancer patients. The schools encourage everyone to wear PURPLE on Friday.
