Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Though I am in Ridgeland now at The Orchard, I still think of and pray for matters of Brookhaven – the town I loved for almost fifty years. The friends, churches, schools, government- all concerns of my hearts have been in my prayers.

I hope your readers have joined me in praying for our country as it moves away from God. Sin is truly abounding, so we Christians need to be doing what God tells us in Chronicles as He did to Israel.

“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Reading this seriously, we see we are the problem. Sobering thought. We have not been sharing the Good News that would impact our neighbors – silence in our safety. May you, may I, repent and pray and share. Our fellow Christians are suffering and dying because of evil rampant today. Please join me, also, in praying for godly leaders all over America as we see elections coming closer. I feel like the children’s “yipes” when I see and hear some of them. Let’s register and vote prayerfully.

I’m thankful God is still on His throne and evil will not prevail.

May God be blessing Brookhaven, my home, happy home, for so many years!

Sincerely,

Keith McDaniel

Former Brookhaven resident
