Lance and Kristy Smith, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kacy Layne Smith, of Brookhaven, to Joshua Robert Nelson.

He is the son of Robert Nelson and the late Carol Nelson, of Crystal Springs.

She is the granddaughter of Brenda Montgomery, of Brookhaven, the late Billy Ray Montgomery, Curtis Smith, of Brookhaven, and the late Relda Smith.

He is the grandson of Howard and Marcelle Nelson, of Crystal Springs, and the late Bill and Nancy Allman, of Columbus, Ohio.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center, a 2010 graduation of Copiah-Lincoln Community College where she received an associate’s degree and a 2014 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Science in child and family studies. She is currently employed with Region 8 Mental Health Center.

The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Copiah Academy and a 2013 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he received an associate’s degree in computer networking technology. He is currently employed with Franklin County Memorial Hospital.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the home of Van and Lisa Bodin. A reception will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Red Star Ward.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
