Funeral services for Gene M. Allen are Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with burial in the Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Anne Matthews will be officiating the services.  Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation is at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Allen, 92, of Brookhaven died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Lincoln County to Edgar Stokes and Annie Eugenia Foster Allen.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired assembly worker from Jacobson Lawnmower Plant in Brookhaven. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He was a loving husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera Allen; and brother, Edgar Allen.

Survivors are his step-son, Randy Ashley and wife, Sandy, of Florence; a devoted church family; and a host of friends.
