Funeral services for Rowena Clark Brown are Monday, July 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday, July 6, 2015, from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown, 96, died on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Haven Hall Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 20, 1918 in Norfield to Tommy Lewis “T.L.” Clark and Molly Welch Clark.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven, where she also was a member of the LLL Club. She was retired from Stahl Urban Manufacturing Company.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Talmadge Brown; her parents; son, Gerald “Butch” Brown; three sisters and five brothers

Survivors are her daughters, Jane Delaney and husband, Jerald, of Hazlehurst; Ginny Bell and husband, Ric, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Lori Alexander, Rod Delaney, Allen Daniels, Beth Daniels-Diaz and Brad Daniels; eight great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff and nurses at Haven Hall Nursing Home and to Hospice Ministries.

They have also requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Lottie Moon Foreign Misson Offering at First Baptist Church or to Hospice Ministries.

William Deloss ‘Buddy’ Kimble Jr.

Memorial services for William Deloss “Buddy” Kimble Jr. are Monday, July 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 7 at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, July 6, 2015, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Avenue).

Mr. Kimble, 82, died on Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was born Dec. 7, 1932 in Lincoln County as the eldest son of W.D. Kimble and Nellie May Ratcliff.

A Bossier City resident and Cypress Baptist Church member, Buddy retired from Halliburton Energy Services in 1991 following 37 years of dedicated service.

Following employment early in his life at Bowling Motors in Brookhaven, Buddy hired on with Halliburton as a bulk truck driver eventually ending his working career as the Shreveport division tools superintendent.

Monday morning coffee with retirees and annual employee reunions in Laurel were times of great enjoyment until his death.  Many lifelong relationships and fond memories were developed during his oilfield career. Waterskiing and woodworking were replaced with spending time with his grandchildren Brandon Kimble and wife, Katria, Emily Kimble, Jordan, Anna Katheryn and Lauren Alford as the only hobbies Buddy ever knew.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his beloved spouse of 54 years, Dorothy Jean Berry.

Survivors are his children, Richard Kevin Kimble and wife, Dorothy; daughter Lori Kimble Alford and husband, Tim; siblings, Bennie Kimble with spouse, Jo, and family, Patsy Rushing with spouse, Donald, and family, Paul Donald Kimble with spouse, Clara, and family, Dale Kimble with spouse, Ramonia, and family; along with extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests offerings be directed to any of the following: Cypress Baptist Church, New Hope Methodist Church, American Cancer Society.
