Mrs. Finison lived in Jackson since 1975 and was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. She was married to Benjamin F. “Frank” Finison for 54 years before his passing. She graduated from what is now the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. For her, it was always The Woman’s College.  She was an avid fan of college basketball, especially North Carolina State University, her husband’s alma mater. Wolfpack basketball was her passion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul B. Gibson and Cora Gurley Gibson; her brother, Thurman D. Gibson; her sister, Helen Gibson Hayworth; her husband, Benjamin F. “Frank” Finison; and her son, Benjamin F. Finison Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy F. Vaughn and her husband, Billy, and Ann F. Pittman and her husband, Hewitt; her granddaughters, Brandi V. Sellers and her husband, Cass, and Emily C. Vaughn; her great-grandson, Anthony William Sellers; her nieces, Martie Hayworth Emory, Catherine Mack, Alice Linville and Ann Parlier; and nephew, Paul Gibson.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ridgeland Pointe for the love, care and patience they showed while she was a resident and the staff and doctors of the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center Emergency Room for their kindness and compassion.

Memorials may be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church.
