Funeral services for Eleanor Brister Westbrook are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Picket, Jimmy Brister, Jacob Westbrook, Clint Martin, Robert Brister, Matt Cofer, Kellum Martin and Dave Pessoney. Bro. Luke Laird and Bro. Glenn Bird will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth, on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Westbrook, 81, of Meadville, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at her residence in Meadville.  She was born in Ruth, on April 18, 1934, to Leslie Leon and Neva Lee Nettles Brister.

She worked for her brother at Brister’s Beauty Supply and was a homemaker. She was a member of the O’Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed the homemaker’s club. She also loved to sew, quilt, to cook for her family and to sing gospel music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Joel Westbrook; parents; brother, Hulit Leon Brister; and grandson, Scott Stephen Westbrook.

Survivors are sons, Stephen Joel “Steve” Westbrook of Vicksburg, and Mitchell Kent Westbrook and wife, Susan, of Brookhaven; daughter, Pansy Ruth Westbrook O’Quinn and husband, Pat, of Meadville; brother, Dan Brister and wife, Sherri, of Vidalia, Louisiana; sisters, Vivian Fonger of Jayess, Dianne Morgan and husband, Larry, of Jayess and Len Wallace of McComb; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
