Funeral services for Elwin Ernest Johnston are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ with burial at the church cemetery.

Visitation was Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service and will continue Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2105, from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church.

Mr. Johnston, 91, of Bogue Chitto, died, Aug. 15, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 3, 1923, to Ernest and Mattie Laird Johnston.

He was a lifetime member and elder of Johnson Grove Church of Christ and served in Germany as an Army Medic in the U.S. Army during W.W. II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Christine Redd Johnston; sisters, Lexie Smith, Mavis Smith, Lucille Smith and Geraldine Crum Watkins.

Survivors are sons, E. Dean Johnston and wife, Nancy Brown-Johnston, and Keith Johnston; daughter, Linda Johnston Rogers and husband, Tony; seven grandchildren, Sara Rogers Michel and husband, Mike, Laura Rogers, Leah Rogers, Lindsey Johnston and husband, Dan Choma, Lemmie Johnston Anderson and husband, Jason, Ernie Johnston and wife, Kayla, and Katelyn Johnston; and also four great-grandchildren, Elisabeth Michel, Rowan Michel, Zachary Johnston and Wesley Johnston.
