Funeral services for Jimmie Gale Smith are Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Garland Boyd will officiate the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 67, of Brookhaven, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born on Feb. 6, 1948, in Brookhaven to Trenton “Bill” Smith and Mary Lou Allen Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was retired as a truck driver from Oddee Smith and Sons Gravel Service where he worked for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Wilburn and Bettye Case Allen and Noah and Lou Smith; brother, Billy Dale Smith; sister, Belita Sue Smith; nephew, Noah Dale Smith; great-niece, Carly Faith Netterville; and father-in-law, Charlie Lambert.

Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Geraldine Lambert Smith of Brookhaven; mother-in-law, Ann Lambert; sisters-in-law, Julie Smith of Jackson, Bonnie Freeman and husband, Ferman, Virginia Rushing and husband, Daniel and Sally Netterville and husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Mack Lambert and wife, Sharon, all of Brookhaven; a special nephew, Sam Lambert; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved like his very own.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be given to Hope House of Hospitality, 786 E. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39206.
