Funeral services for Virginia Bardwell Dykes are Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto with burial in church cemetery. Bro. Floyd Higginbotham will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home and will continue Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Mrs. Dykes, 56, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at her residence in Brookhaven. She was born April 20, 1959, in Tylertown to George Allen and Ruby Louise Bardwell.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed life, people, fishing and shopping and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her uncle, Floyd Bardwell.

Survivors are her husband of 13 years, James Dykes; her daughters, Mandy Wright and husband, Chris, of Bogue Chitto and Jenny Bowman and husband, Kenny, of Bogue Chitto; her sons, Rusty Davis and wife, Andrea, of Bogue Chitto and Joe Dykes and wife, Jessica, of Brookhaven; mother, Ruby Louise Bardwell of Bogue Chitto; sisters, Linda Haralson and her husband, Donnie, of Bogue Chitto and Glenda McCaffrey and husband, Loyd, of Bogue Chitto; brother, Michael Bardwell Sr. of Bogue Chitto; aunt, Joyce Lofton of McCall Creek; one great-grandchild; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her special aunt Shirley.
