Funeral services for Hayden S. Parsons of Smithdale are Friday, April 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Elder Luke Addison will officiate. Hartman Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Friday, April 22, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Pallbearers are Derek Parsons, Daniel Parsons, Eric Parsons, William Parsons, Cody Wilkinson and Lance Prestridge. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Lewis and Matthew Parsons.

Mr. Parsons, 82, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Lincoln County and was the son of the late Lonnie and Lucille Smith Parsons.

Mr. Parsons was a gas service tech, a member of the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church and served in the Army National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a very talented man. He loved to make anyone and everyone around him laugh. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, L. W. Parsons; brother in-law, Ernie Shaw; one grandson, Austin Wilkinson; and his dog, Buddy.

Survivors are his loving wife of 60 happy years, Allawana Lewis Parsons; two sons, Lance Parsons (Lanell) and Tony Parsons (Elizabeth Ann); one daughter, Tonya Parsons Wilkinson (Dwayne); 10 grandchildren, Joshua Parsons, Matthew Parsons, Elizabeth Parsons, Derek Parsons (Amber), Eric Parsons (Kelly), Daniel Parsons (Lauren), Cody Wilkinson, Katie Touchstone (Matthew), Briana Beasley and Wren Beasley; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine Scott (Jim) and Dianne Shaw.
