Q: Since Keystone Park has been replaced by the new

Lincoln Civic Center
baseball complex, how long will Dixie Youth Baseball teams be allowed to practice there? Once Keystone is cleared, where will teams practice in the future?

A: Teams are not allowed to practice at the new baseball complex, according to Civic Center Director Quinn Jordan.

However, Lincoln County Chancery Clerk Tillmon Bishop said teams have not be authorized to practice in the decommissioned Keystone Park either.

“I think some teams are just using it when they don’t have another place to go out and practice,” Bishop said. “I don’t know of any county officials that have given the authority to do that. The board of supervisors will have to discuss that, but they have not yet.”

Jordan said individual teams are responsible for organizing their own practice.

“They can find churches and fields to practice on,” Jordan said. “That’s what they’ve been doing for the past 30 years.”
