Funeral services for Martha Velma Wiggins Cook of Bogue Chitto are at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Hartman Funeral Home with burial in Zion Hill Cemetery.  Hartman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Lex Cook, Bobby Barkley, Lee Barkley, Mark Alexander, Bobby Johnson, James Carruth, Ed Welch and Dillan Barkley. Honorary pallbearers are Hyland Brumfield, Clyde Dolbear, David Dolbear, Gene Dolbear and Ernie Johnston.

Visitation is Friday, April 29, 2016, from 12 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cook, 83, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Jackson, Alabama, to the late Johnny and Velma Dolbear Wiggins.

Martha was of the Methodist faith, a homemaker and worked at Movie Star of Magnolia for 35 years as a garment worker. She loved country music, good Southern cooking and coffee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Roy D. Cook.

Survivors are her two daughters, Virginia Barkley and husband, Bobby Barkley and Lura Colleen Welch and husband, Ed Welch; five sons, Albert R. Cook, William R. Cook, James K. Cook, John A. Cook and Lex Cook; 10 grandchildren, Lee Barkley, Brent Cook, Mark Alexander, April Wright, Sarah Cook, Amelia Welch, Olivia Welch, Lemmie Anderson, Ernie Johnston and Katelyn Johnston; 17 great-grandchildren, Dillan Barkley, Dezeray Barkley, Conner Stokley, Bryan Stokley, Drue Flint, Daniel Flint, Aiden Alexander, Gabe Alexander, Eli Alexander, Dominic Wright, Jayden Wright, Kade Wright, Tristan Wright, Emma Ruth Anderson, Ruby Grace Anderson, Zachary Johnston and Wesley Johnston; two brothers, Vance Rockwell and Michael Rockwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
