Funeral services for the Rev. Robert C. “R.C.” McCall Sr. of Brookhaven are at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. James M. B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Larry Jointer and Rev. Robert C. McCall (Chuck) Jr. will officiate.   

Visitation is Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5 until 7 p.m. at St. James M. B. Church, Brookhaven with the family present.

Rev. McCall, 73, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. He was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Lincoln County to the late Sherman and Emily Coleman McCall.

He was a 1963 graduate of Alexander High School in Brookhaven. He attended a year of college at Co-Lin Community College in Wesson and was a graduate of Harper Baptist Seminary.

He was employed upon retirement at Duke Entergy as a senior operator.

Rev. McCall was a member of the Lincoln County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, founder of the Brookhaven Youth Development, member of Mission Pike County, served as a pastoral adviser for McComb High School and was a lifetime member of the NAACP.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, J.C. McCall, Joseph McCall, Rock McCall and Tamar McCall; sisters, Bessie Stewart, Emma D. Allen, Alice Henderson and Dorothy Smith.

Survivors are his devoted wife, Mrs. Willie Pearl Newson McCall of Brookhaven; children, Rebecca McCall, Carmen McCall, Demetra McCall, Pamela McCall Williams, the Rev. Robert C. (Chuck) McCall Jr., (LaShae) of Brookhaven and Rhonda Moore (Paul), Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his siblings, Luther McCall (Bernice), Alean Eley both of Brookhaven and Mary Frances Bell of Muskegon, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
