Funeral services for Donald “William” Durr will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. Interment will be at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Durr, 36, of Bogue Chitto, died May 28, 2017 while serving and protecting the people of Lincoln County, a job he loved. He was born June 19, 1980, to Donald Jeffrey Durr and Debbie Cox Durr.

Durr was a graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor’s degree. He was part of the Brookhaven Masonic Lodge and was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. William had a passion for children and youth ministries and would use his talents as a ventriloquist to minister to them.  He recently completed the training in D.A.R.E. education also. His other hobbies he loved were woodworking and playing guitar.

Preceding him in death was his father, Donnie Durr; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Peggy Faye Cox; paternal grandfather, Louis Monroe Durr.

Survivors are his wife Tressie C. Hall; son, Nash Durr; mother, Debbie Durr; sister, Megan Durr; a special friend he loved like a brother, Timothy Kees; father and mother-in-law, Johnny Ray and Brenda Hall; brothers-in-law, Stuart Hall and wife Sarabeth, Wade Price and Adam Cook; and a sister-in-law, Briana Hall Price; and nieces, Ashlyn Hall, Raylee Price and Amelia Price.

Memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Research Hospital, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216, in memory of Deputy William Durr, in honor of Amelia Price.
