MEADVILE – Matthew Lofton struck out seven batters and walkedfour in leading Band B to a 25-5 win over J.W. Priest Logging inFranklin County Dixie Youth Baseball League action. Lofton gave uptwo hits in five innings of action.

In the other games, Bank of Franklin dumped Franklin Optical9-5, Laird’s Body Shop rolled over Priest Logging 13-5 and Band Bposted a 17-7 win over Franklin Optical.

Band B 25, Priest Logging 5

Lofton also led Band B at the plate with a pair ofdoubles. Hitting a double and a single was Jeremy Holland. JasonCarlock singled twice.

Leading Priest Logging with a double and two singles wasNevada Watts. Watts was the losing pitcher with three strikeoutsand five walks.

Bank of Franklin 9, Franklin Optical

Winning pitcher Ross Barnett led the bankers with atriple and two singles. Cable Mlnn absorbed the loss.

Jessie Roberts drilled a pair of doubles for the eyedoctors.

Laird’s Body Shop 13, Priest Logging

Powering Larid’s with two triples was Brian Ratcliff.Jarvis King tripled and doubled. Hitting two singles was Don Key.Nailing the win was Phillip Dillion with five strikeouts and fivewalks.

Travis Priest was the losing hurler, striking out threeand walking four. Watts doubled and singled two times.

Band B 17, Franklin Optical 7

The winner on the mound was Carlock with five strikeoutsand five walks. Roberts was credited with the loss, striking outtwo and walking three.

Band B was led by Lofton’s triple, two doubles andsingle. Holland singled three times.

The eye doctors got a triple and single from McMinn. BenMorris doubled twice. David Dillion hit a double and asingle.
