MONTICELLO — Three charges of accessory after the fact to childabuse have been dropped in the Fifteenth Circuit Court Districtagainst Jackie Lambert.

Charges against Lambert stemmed from three incidents in 1997 and1998 in which she allegedly knew that Hoyte Bradley Lambertphysically abused a child.

Hoyte Bradley Lambert pleaded guilty to three counts of childabuse on April 4 and was sentenced on April 13 to 20 years in thecustody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with 15 yearssuspended, 15 years post-release supervision, restitution of$14,632.85, and court costs.

Jackie Lambert’s charges stated that she “did aid and assistHoyte Bradley Lambert” on three occasions — between Aug. 6 andAug. 31, 1997, when the child suffered perforated eardrums, betweenSept. 1 and Sept. 30, 1997, when the child was injured with afractured left femoral neck and an injured right middle thirdtibia, and between June 23 and June 30, 1998, when the childreceived blunt abdominal trauma and multiple contusions.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Eubanks’ decision reserves the”right to file charges in the Justice Court of Lawrence County.”The decision states that Eubanks felt the case for misdemeanorchild abuse “would be better made in the Justice Court.”
